Single Fathers’ Deconstruction Class (SMDC)

Rebuilding Fatherhood from the Ground Up
Course Overview
Society gives us plenty of blueprints for what a “traditional family” looks like, but when you are a single father, those blueprints don’t fit. Whether you are navigating solo parenting due to divorce, loss, or choice, the Single Fathers’ Deconstruction Class (SFDC) is a dedicated, judgment-free space designed to help you take apart old, unhelpful expectations of masculinity and parenting, and piece together a healthier, more intentional framework for you and your kids.
This is not a lecture series on “how to be a perfect dad.” It is an active, collaborative workshop. We take apart the myths—like the pressure to “do it all alone” or provide a strictly traditional household—and replace them with practical tools for emotional connection, solo household management, and self-care.
What You Will Deconstruct
In this course, we dismantle the four major pressures holding single fathers back:
- The “Provider-Only” Myth: Moving past the idea that financial support is your primary value, opening the door to deeper emotional availability.
- The Isolation Trap: Breaking down the societal conditioning that prevents men from asking for help or building a parenting village.
- Co-Parenting & Conflict Friction: Deconstructing past relationship patterns to build clean, boundary-led communication for the sake of the kids.
- The “Super-Dad” Expectation: Releasing the exhausting guilt of trying to be both parents at once, focusing instead on being one solid, present father.
The 4-Stage Curriculum
1.Phase 1: Unpacking the Baggage:Weeks 1–2.
Identify and deconstruct generational parenting patterns, cultural expectations of manhood, and personal guilt or grief surrounding your single-parent status.
2.Phase 2: Emotional Literacy & Connection:Weeks 3–4.
Learn how to hold space for your children’s big emotions (and your own). We cover age-appropriate communication, managing transition-day anxiety, and building emotional resilience.
3.Phase 3: The Solo Ecosystem:Weeks 5–6.
Practical systems for running a solo household. This covers establishing sustainable routines, balancing work-life boundaries, managing household logistics without burning out, and introducing new partners or dynamics safely.
4.Phase 4: Rebuilding the Village:Weeks 7–8.
Designing your future. Learn how to cultivate a robust support network, practice non-negotiable self-care without guilt, and step into your identity as a proud, confident single father.
Who This Is For: Any single father—including divorced dads, widowers, adoptive solo fathers, and co-parents—who wants to stop just “surviving” day-to-day logistics and start building a deeply fulfilling, authentic relationship with his children.
